Profile Photos Within Group chats – New features by WhatsApp
WhatsApp is testing new features that make identifying group participation users’ pictures easier. For example, the application will add profile images to the group chat to help users identify the sender.
This new feature will be useful for users of massive WhatsApp groups who still need to keep all contact names in their contact list.
The user’s profile photo will add the text bubble in the chat. The increase in the size of WhatsApp groups from 256 to 512 individuals also calls for such a function.
WABetaInfo, a website that tracks all new WhatsApp beta features, discovered the new feature. The report shows how the feature will appear on the WhatsApp Web client.
According to the source, the feature is now available for WhatsApp iOS users. Typically, WhatsApp first delivers a feature to the platform during development.
Therefore, even Beta testers will be unable to use the feature now. The feature is then rolled out to a small group of beta testers and subsequently to all WhatsApp users.
How does the profile picture feature work?
Currently, It only shows the phone number/name of the group member along with their message. The profile picture will solve that problem for users.
The group members will see a default icon if a user doesn’t have a WhatsApp display picture or has kept it private.
WABetaInfo posted a screenshot on their website about a new chat box that will appear under the media you’re sharing. It will give you a choice to completely ignore the caption.
Many individuals were discouraged from posting their captions after they were automatically removed from the media. The option of holding it may increase the number of forwarded messages.
WhatsApp has been known to suffer from misinformation on its platform. That is why they created the “Forwarded Message” tag. Unfortunately, the new function may abuse the for forwarding captions and videos.
